Neglect is the continuing failure to meet a child’s basic needs. It can often lead to other forms of abuse or harm – or even death – and it is the most common form of abuse. Because of this, it is important that professionals working with children understand neglect and the effect it has on the child. This course will enable learners to identify neglect behaviours in children, and examines how to therapeutically assist the recovery of the child.
